Watching ASMR Videos and Following Artists

Tingles ASMR plays ASMR videos in YouTube’s official embedded player, organised by artist, with a few extras made for ASMR listeners.

Artists

The Artists tab on Home lists featured ASMR artists. Each artist page is one scrolling page with:

• Play latest
• Live now, if the artist is streaming
• Popular, for featured artists
• past Live streams
• Latest uploads

To search for any ASMR video, tap Explore on the Artists tab. Results come in two groups, Curated and YouTube.

Adding any YouTube ASMR channel

You aren’t limited to the featured list.

1. On Home, open the Artists tab and tap Add Artist.
2. Search by name, or paste the channel’s handle (like @GentleWhispering) or its YouTube link.
3. Tap the channel (the + beside it) to add it.

You can also add an artist from a video’s channel menu (Add to my artists) or with Add on their artist page. The free plan holds 5 added artists, and Premium has no limit. If you only want your own artists, turn off the featured list in Settings → Content → Artists.

Under each video

A row of buttons sits below the video:

• Loop repeats one section (Premium; see below).
• Up Next plays the next video from the same artist when this one ends.
• Watch Later adds the video to your queue, which plays in order. You can also open the queue from Artists → Playlist, and drag to reorder.
• Playlist opens that Watch Later queue straight from the player, and shows how many videos are in it.
• Share posts the video to the in-app Community.

The channel menu has Add to my artists, Go to artist page and View on YouTube.

Looping your favourite section

Many listeners have one stretch of a video they’d happily hear for an hour. Loop (Premium) repeats it:

1. Tap Loop below the video.
2. Drag the Start and End handles, or tap ± to fine-tune.
3. Tap Start Loop. The Loop button now shows the loop times.

To stop, tap the loop times below the video, then tap ✕ on the panel. Loop isn’t available on live streams.

Watching with the screen off

On the free plan, a video pauses when you lock the phone. With Premium it keeps going as audio. See Playing ASMR with the screen off.

Videos that won’t play

Some videos can’t play outside YouTube: age-restricted videos, members-only videos, and videos whose creator turned off embedding. The app tells you which applies. Videos always need an internet connection.
