Sound Playlists: Chain Mixes and Sounds for a Whole Night

A Tingles ASMR playlist plays mixes and sounds one after another, each for as long as you set, over an optional background sound. Here's how to build one.

A mix plays a set of sounds together. A playlist plays mixes and sounds one after another: twenty minutes of brushing, then tapping, then rain, say. Each item plays for as long as you choose, and an optional background sound can run underneath the whole thing.

Premade playlists

The Playlists tab on the Home screen has playlists ready to play, grouped by category. Tap one to open the player. Every premade playlist is free.

What’s in a playlist

  • Items: each one is a mix (yours or a premade one) or a single sound. Sounds loop for the item’s whole duration.
  • Durations: each item plays for its own time, 5 minutes unless you change it. When it runs out, the next item starts. When the last one finishes, playback stops.
  • Ambient: one optional background sound, such as rain or a fan, that plays underneath every item. It has its own volume.

Items play in the order you set. There’s no shuffle or repeat.

Making a playlist

  1. Tap Create in the bottom bar, then Playlist.
  2. Tap Choose cover and search for a photo, or pick a default.
  3. Type a name.
  4. For a background sound, tap Add next to Ambient, pick one, and set its volume.
  5. Tap Add an Item. Pick from the Mixes tab, or from any sound category.
  6. Set each sound’s volume with its slider. A mix keeps its own volumes.
  7. To change how long an item plays, tap its ⋮ menu, then Edit Duration, and set the hours and minutes.
  8. To reorder, long-press an item and drag it. To remove one, tap ⋮ → Delete.
  9. Tap Save. A playlist needs a name and a cover.

The editor plays the first item while you work, so you can hear it as you build. Your playlists are under Create → Playlists. Tap one to play it. Edit, Share to Community and Delete are in the card’s menu.

Playing a playlist

The player shows how many items there are and the total time. It has previous, play/pause and next buttons, and you can tap any item to jump to it. The lock screen has previous, play/pause and next too. Pausing also pauses the item’s timer, so you don’t lose time.

Playlists keep playing with the screen off on the free plan. If the sound stops after a few minutes on Android, see Sound stops when the screen turns off.

With Premium, the Sleep Mode button on the player sets a timer. While Sleep Mode runs, the playlist stays on its current item until the sound fades out and stops.

Sharing a playlist

You can share a playlist to Community if it’s made only of sounds. A playlist that contains mixes, or your own recorded sounds, can’t be shared. Sharing needs an account and a display name.
